GENERAL

Where are you located?

Our studio is located at the corner of Levering Street and Cresson Street (entrance on Cresson) directly off of Main Street, Manayunk. Please see our contact page for more information.

If I have any questions, can I walk in and speak with someone?

Yes! Anyone can walk in whenever we are there, if there is no class or training session taking place or if someone else is there to assist you other than the instructor or trainer who are occupied with NGU athletes.

Can I do personal training AND fitness classes?

Absolutely! We encourage cross-training and trying everything. Mixing it up is the best way to see results. One-on-one attention with personal training will give you the custom workouts you need to reach your goals, while fitness classes are there to keep you working towards those goals in fun, energetic and different ways while burning some major calories!

Are there bathrooms or showers at the studio?

There is a restroom of course and a shower on our newly-renovated level.

What are your hours?

Fitness classes run at various times throughout the day, while personal training is by appointment only. Please visit our scheduling site to make your free 30-minute training consultation for in-depth questions and concerns regarding your personal training and visit the same link to see our current class schedule.

What are your prices?

Please visit our pricing page or our current specials, promotions and price lists in studio.

FITNESS CLASSES

Can I sign up for a class even if I have never tried it before?

YES! Of course. We encourage newcomers to try out any class, as they are meant for all types of levels and the exercises are modified, enhanced or customized to each athlete’s level of fitness.

TRX Suspension classes are the only ones that requires a prerequisite. It is important for TRX to take only ONE of our TRX Intro classes, which are offered throughout the week.

Come on in and try them all out!

How many people will be in the class with me?

There will never be more than 12 people in class. We keep the class sizes small to ensure proper form, safety and the best outcome possible to reach your fitness and personal goals.

What do I wear to a fitness class?

You can wear anything that you feel comfortable sweating and moving around in. Also, be sure to wear sneakers and the proper undergarments!

Can I just walk into a class?

We absolutely encourage walk-ins without signing up prior, but remember, if the class is at capacity, there is nothing we can do and you will not be able to take the class. If this is a concern, it is best to sign up online to reserve your spot.

PERSONAL TRAINING & SPORT-TRAINING

Can I still do a sport-training plan even though I’m not signed up for a race?

Of course. Our plans are for all levels (beginner-elite) and styles. Anyone who wants to improve in a specific area, and focus on one or two sports at a time no matter what their goal is, will be a good fit for a training plan.

Do you accept walk-ins for personal training sessions?

No. Personal Training sessions are on appointment only. Although you must make an appointment to train, you are more than welcome to come in and ask questions, or set up a 30-minute FREE consultation appointment to go over your questions and concerns.

If I sign up for Personalized Training and realize it is not for me, can I get a refund?

Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds or transfer of purchases. Personal Training is personalized to you and you only. Therefore, if you are not fond of the training, speak with your trainer or NGU team member and we will fix it so that you are not wasting your time, money and efforts with an activity you are not enjoying!

NGU’s weather policies mirror the Lower Merion and Philadelphia School Districts – if the kids can make it, so can you! And if school is cancelled, our classes are off as well. Please read the following for all of the details regarding cancellations and refunds.

WEATHER POLICIES

WE FOLLOW PHILADELPHIA SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR OUR CANCELLATION POLICY. IF PHILLY SCHOOLS ARE CLOSED, THAT DOES NOT MEAN NGU IS CLOSED.

If schools are CLOSED and we choose to stay open:

  • You DO NOT lose your class, but you must cancel online

If schools are OPEN and stay open:

  • No exceptions can be made and cancellation policies stand

If your scheduled class is cancelled:

  • You’ll be notified via email and updates will be posted on all social channels

For private training:

  • If schools are OPEN, so are we

  • If schools are CLOSED, you must contact your trainer and decide whether to meet or not

CANCELLATION POLICIES

Will I face a penalty if I cancel my scheduled personal training session?

Personal training sessions must be cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled session. If you do not cancel within that timeframe, the penalty is a forfeiture of session.

Will I face a penalty if I cancel my scheduled class?

Classes must be cancelled within 12 hours of the scheduled class. If you do not cancel within that timeframe, monthly unlimited members will face a $18 charge and package holders will forfeit the class.
